Over the course of the last 4 months, NASDSE has been engaged in a comprehensive review of our organization with the help of a nationally recognized consulting group, Human Dynamics Consulting (HDC). HDC worked closely with the Board of Directors, NASDSE Staff, and many of our past presidents to begin drafting the outlines of a strategic plan.
The next stage of our engagement plan is to get significant input from our members and affinity groups by conducting a series of facilitated stakeholder sessions at the OSEP Leadership Conference. We ask that you sign up for one of the five possible sessions in order to have input into the strategic plan. The goal is to present the draft strategic plan at the annual business meeting to the entire membership.
What to expect when you attend a focus group session:
Focus groups will be designed as give and take sessions. Information will be given about NASDSE's planning process including some of the draft components of the plan. You will then be asked to share ideas about specific programs, projects and process improvements that NASDSE could implement that would provide state leaders of special education with what they need to be fully successful.
Following the focus groups, the information generated will be summarized and themes identified. This information will be the foundation for the development of initiatives for NASDSE's strategic plan. Thank you so much for participating in this important endeavor.
